Allwinner has launched its A83T octa core processor for several months. Recently, Infocus launched a 7 inch tablet pc android with this Allwinner A83T octa core processor.

This Infocus C2107 adopts the metal body, owns one 7 inch IPS screen. Screen resolution is 1920*1200 pixels. RAM is 1.5GB, flash memory is 16GB. The operation system is Android 4.4 OS. Its front camera is 2M pixels, and rear camera is 8M pixels. Battery capacity is 3550Mah. Generally speaking, the performance is not bad. Its price is 179 US dollars. That is a bit expensive in my idea.

Today, Mediatek announced its sales of 4G chipset in 2014. Till now, the total sale of its 4G chipset is over 30 million pieces. As estimation, the total sale of 2014 will be nearly 40 million pieces. It takes 20% to 30% of 4G market.

In this April, Mediatek started to test its 4G chipset, and in June, it was available for sale. Just in half years, the sales is nearly 40 million pieces. And in 2015, the sales will keep on increasing.

In July, Mediatek launched several new SOC including 4G network and 64 bit processor. Then it started to compete with Qualcomm. But before that, the leader of the 4G market is Qualcomm and Marvell.

During the first half of this year, as there is no processors supporting 4G network, many smart phone suppliers in China adopt the processor from Qualcomm,

Usually, market competition will benefit users. In June, Qualcomm announced its RF360 solution will support seven different network standard. More important, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 and Snapdragon 200 will also support 4G network, and both are for middle and low end market. And that is the market owning by Mediatek before. That is a great competition to Mediatek.

As our news, other chipset suppliers will launch 4G processors next year, and they will make the 4G smart phones less than 50 euros. But Mediatek confirmed it will not launch similar SOC in near future.

Recently, BLU, one smart phone supplier, launched BLIU 7.0 Studio 7.0, 2 in 1 smart phone. It is a smart phone, also a mini tablet pc. It owns one 7 inch IPS screen, but its performance is not high. Price is only 150 US dollars. Now, it is already available for sale on ontablets.es

The screen resolution is 1024*600 pixels. CPU is one dual core processor, frequency is 1.3GHz. CPU is Mali 400. RAM is 1GB, and flash memory is 8GB. It can support an external TF card up to 64GB. The front camera is 2M pixels, and rear camera is 5M pixels.

From 2010 when Apple launched the first tablet, iPad, it has already 5 years passed. During the five year, the tablet sales is increasing greatly, and its market share is taking over laptop PC. But in 2014, the situation changed, sales stops increasing, and iPad sales is keeping on reducing in past three quarters. The Android tablets is also quite similar in 2014.

First, in 2015, phablets will be popular. In Asia, 25% tablets sold can make calls. And all of tablets are running Android OS. Many suppliers are quite confident of this market.

Second, big screen size tablets will be welcome. In early 2014, Samsung launched the 12.2 inch NotePro 12.2. And In Oct, Lenovo launched Yoga Tablet 2 Pro with 13.3 inch screen size. Adding on the 12.2 inch iPad Pro, we believe, in 2015, big screen size will be more welcome in market.

Third, commercial tablets are more potential. In the second half of 2014, the sales of commercial tablets is increased by 13.5%. And in 2015, it will keep on increasing.

Yesterday, Huawei launched its flagship unit in 2014, the Honor 6 Plus. In meanwhile, Huawei launched a new tablet in India. It is one cheap 8 inch tablet pc with Android OS. Now, this unit is already available for sale in India. Model number is Honor T1.

This T1 tablet owns one 8 inch IPS screen, resolution is 1280*800 pixels. CPU is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 quad core processor. Frequency is 1.2GHz. RAM is 1GB, flash memory is 8GB. Its front camera is VGA, and rear camera is 5M pixels. Battery capacity is 4800Mah. Unit can also support 3G network, and make calls on screen. Operation system is Android 4.4

The price of this T1 is only 120 euros. As our news, this unit will not land China, but don't know if it will be available on Spain and other countries.

Recently, Suverimax released a report about the anti-drop performance of tablets. After testing 10 most popular tablets in market, the most anti-drop tablet is Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, not iPad. And ASUS Memo 7 is ranked second in the report.

The test has covered drop test and water proof test. Samsung Galaxy has won a high score, and ranked top. Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and 9 inch TMAX Digital are ranked bottom.

Generally, small size tablets have better anti drop performance than big size tablets. First, it is easier to be hold, second, when it is dropped, it will face lighter shocking force. Suverimax made the test by dropping tablets from 1.2M high, and put in water for over 10 seconds.

The report also takes unit price into consideration. Though, ASUS Memo 7 is only 150 US dollars, but it looks very strong. TMAX HD 9 is also cheap, but it is broken into two parts, and after put into water for 10 second, unit can not work either.

After doing the same test, Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and Sony Xperia Z3 can work well. iPad has already passed the test, but it is slightly broken and after water proof testing, the speaker is down to work.

Among the big size tablet, Nexus 9 has passed the anti drop test, but did not pass the water proof test. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has did not pass either of the test.

Third one is Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5. Just like the Galaxy Tab S 8.4, this unit is also coming with one high definition AMOLED panel. But its size is bigger. If you like big screen size, then this Galaxy Tab S 10.5 will be the best to you. Its configuration is the nearly the same as Galaxy Tab S 8.4.

Forth one is Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. We have made an introduction about it in previous posts. This tablet comes with one 8 inch IPS screen. It looks very slim, only 6.4mm thickness. CPU is Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, and adding on the 3GB RAM, the performance of this Xperia Z3 Compact is very good. More important, this tablet is water proof.

Fifth is Nexus 9. This unit is the first one with Android 5.0 Lollipop operation system. And in following two years, it will be the one with latest Android OS. Its configuration is also top level. CPU is Nvidia Tegra K1, RAM is 2GB. Screen resolution is 2K. Battery capacity is 6700Mah. But it can not support a TF card to extend memory space.

Sixth is Nexus 7. This is the most cost effective tablet. It is very slim. Though its configuration is not top level, but not outdated either. It comes with 7 inch 1080P IPS screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB RAM. Totally speaking, it is still one very good tablet. Its battery life is also very long.
