Last week, XiaoMi opened its last product presentation conference in 2015. During this conference, XiaoMi launched its new flagship smartphone, RedMi Note 3 and new generation tablet pc, Mi Pad 2. The price of Mi Pad 2 is starting from 160 US dollars, more important, if you want, you can burn Windows 10 operation system into this unit. It owns 2GB RAM, but people said 2GB RAM is not enough to run Windows 10 OS, but our testing result shows its performance is not bad.
XiaoMi Mi Pad 2 adopts latest Intel Cherry Trail X5 Z8500 quad core processor. This processor is based on 14nm process technology, and 64 bit. Frequency is 2.24GHz. We tested its performance by one 3rd party software, its result is 85101 which is just lower than Huawei Mate 8 and Meizu Pro 5, and even higher than XiaoMi Note smart phone.
Mi Pad 2 owns one 7.9 inch IPS screen from Sharp, resolution is 2048*1536 pixels. Battery capacity is 6190Mah. Front camera is 5M pixels, rear camera is 8M pixels, and it support Type C USB port. It has two editions, one is coming with 16GB storage, the other is 64GB. But only 64GB edition can be burn with Windows 10 OS. It is not dual OS, you can just choose one operation system, Android or Windows 10.
Last week, Nvidia announced its new Shield Tablet K1 tablet pc. This unit adopts Tegra K1 processor. Recently, people disclosed one new tablet pc from Nvidia. Model number is Shield Tablet X1. This unit will adopt new Nvidia Tegra X1 processor which is based on Maxwell architecture. Its performance is much higher than Tegra K1. News said this tablet will own one 8 inch IPS screen, resolution is 1920*1200 pixels. RAM is 3GB, storage is 32GB. Its operation system is Android 6.0 OS. For now, there is no information about its cameras.
Nvidia Tegra X1 is the new processor rolling out at beginning of this year. It adopts the Maxwell architecture from Nvidia, and 20nm process technology. This processor integrates four ARM Cortex A53 and four ARM Cortex A57. Its GPU is also based on Maxwell architecture. It can support 4K video playback at 60fps, and H.265, VP9 decoding. Generation speaking, performance of Tegra X1 is twice of Tegra K1, and its GPU performance is similar as iPad Pro.

There is SSD storage built in, and 12 inch high definition IPS screen. Screen ratio is 3:2. More important, it can support 4G LTE network.
HP Elite X2 1012 owns HP SecureStart technology in BIOS level. Whole unit looks very slim, and light. Its thickness is 8.1mm, and total weight is about 900g.
As estimation, HP Elite X2 1012 will land US market in Jan 2016, people can book it on HP official online store, its price is 899 US dollars including one keyboard and touch pen.

Last night, in Beijing, China, Lenovo officially launched its new smartphone, Lemo X3. This Lenovo Lemo X3 adopts Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, screen size is 5.5 inch, and resolution is 1080P level. Its RAM is 3GB, storage can be 32GB or 64GB. This new Lenovo smartphone can support Quick Charge 2.0 technology and its front camera is 8M pixels, rear camera is 21M pixels. Price is starting from 390 US dollars.
In the conference, people from Lenovo said, the shipment volume of Lemo K3 smartphone has reach 10 million pieces in the world. As the upgrading edition, Lemo X3 keeps the high quality tone, and comes with Dolby ATMOS technology.
Lemo X3 adopts one ES9018C2M audio decoding chipset, and three OPA1612 amplifiers from Texas Instruments. More important, this smartphone can support HiFi function.
Except that, Lemo X3 can support 4G LTE + network, and VoLTE. Its max download speed is 450Mbps. But Lenovo did not tell when this Lemo X3 will be for sale. More information will be provided in following weeks.

Early this month, news from USA said, Google may self design and make cooperation with others to develop its own SOC for mobile phones. In fact, this mode is quite similar as Apple. Apple designs its SOC and OEM by Samsung or TSMC.
In fact, this news is unveiled from this autumn. At beginning, Google would like to develop one internet device for enterprises. This device will be based on Google technology. But soon, this planning is changed to develop one SOC for smartphones. The benefit of this is that it can allow put the latest features into the new Android OS.
The problem of this plan is it is quite hard to find a reliable partner for this SOC. Of course, Google can find some cheap Android devices manufacturers, but if so, it is impossible to develop one high quality SOC. Till now, Apple is still the leader of smartphone market. If Google would like to develop its own SOC, then it is most likely adopted by Nexus products at beginning.
