News from Ontablets, over 77% of smart phones in worldwide is from China, but only 3% of them adopt the chipset from China. Every year, China has to import over 200 billion US dollars chipset from other countries.

China is the biggest manufacture base of world. Over 77% smart phones are made in China, but only 3% adopt chipset from China.

The whole semiconductor market is about 30 billion US dollars, but chipset from China only takes less than 10% market share. As we know, chipset is the core of many electronic device. In autos, PCs, communication etc, chipset is the most important parts. As the technology, facilities, and material is not advanced, now, China relies on importing chipset a lot.

in 2013, China has import about 231 billion US dollar chipset, compared with 2012, it has been increased by 20.5%. This amount has already surpassed oil, and ranked the top.

Everything, there are over 1.1 billion smart phones, 350 million PCs, 130 million TV set are from China, but few of them adopt the China chipset. And manufacturers in China have to pay billions of US dollars for different patent.

Luckily, China government has already noticed this point, every year, government invests billions US dollars to develop its own chipset. Maybe, in near future, we will see more and more smart phones or tablets with chipset from China.

Smart watch is a new stuff in market. Now, there are many smart watches available in market. But if you ask me which is the best. Then it should be the Moto 360. It adopts the round panel. So it looks like a real watch. Maybe that is why it is so popular in market. Except Moto 360, LG has launched one smart watch with round panel as well. But recently, HP will also launch one smart watch with round panel. It name is MB Chronowing. It will be available for sale very soon.

Tablets for Kids are not a new stuff in market. Many suppliers here have already launched such tablets. But most of them are based on ARM chips. But today, CNK launched one new tablet with Intel processor. The model name is ClickN Kids Tablet 2.

When Apple launched the iWatch, people care about battery life a lot. But Apple did not say too much about it. And as the result we tested, users have to recharge the iWatch everyday, just like other smart watches in the market. As we know, the battery life is one big problem for smart watches. But don't worry. Today, Sharp has launched one new screen panel which can reduce the power consumption a lot, and extend the battery life a lot.

In fact, soft screen is not a new stuff, several years before, some videos have already shown us the soft screen. But most of them are small screen size. But recently, one company in Japan named SEL has launched a 8.7 inch soft screen. It adopts the AMOLED technology, screen resolution is 1080P. Users can curve the screen in some angles. Though, it is not like a paper which is can be folded easily, but that is quite a good break. SEL also showed us one 5,7 inch soft screen, but it can not support touch operation.

Though, till now, we do not see any products with this soft screen. But maybe in near future, this screen will be adopted in our e-book readers or some tablets as well.

Last month, we have seen one 10 inch ASUS tablet pc on ontablets.es. But ASUS did not announced any news about this unit. This morning, latest news from ASUS, it has confirmed this unit, the model number is Memo Pad 10 ME103K.

This Pad 10 ME103K owns one 10 inch IPS screen, resolution is 1280*800 pixels. There are two colors available, black and white. The size of the unit is 10.1*6.9*0.4 inch. Total weight is 545G.

Unit comes with one Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. The operation system is Android 4.4 Kitkat. RAM is 1GB. The flash memory can be 8GB, 16GB and 32GB. There is one MicroSD card slot to expend memory space. The front camera is 0.3M pixels, and rear camera is 2M pixels. Both are not high resolution. The battery life is nearly 10 hours. Except that, the bluetooth4.0, GPS, Wifi are all built in.

The the above specification information, this Memo Pad 10 will not be expensive. It can replace Samsung, and other cheap models. It owns higher screen resolution, bigger memory space.

Now, in some online store, this unit is sold at 200 euros.

As the higher performance of the Kirin 92X series processor, and unique power-saving technology, it is quite welcomed by users. As the top processor of Kirin 92X series, what is the performance of this Kirin 928 octa core? Today, let's have a reviews on this new processor.

This Kirin 928 contains four Cortex A15 with 2.0GHz frequency and four Cortex A7 with 1.3GHz frequency. Today, we tested Huawei H60-L21. This smart phone comes with the latest Kirin 928 octa core processor. It owns 3GB RAM and 32GB flash memory space. The screen resolution is 1080P.

We tested this smart phone by one professional software, the result is 43000. Compared with the old Kirin 920 and Kirin 925, there is some improvement, but as the GPU performance is not high, compared with other top processor. It is still not good enough.

Second, we tested one 1080P and 60 fps, ref=15 video on the smart phone, at beginning, it can play in 50 fps, but later, then it reduced 47 fps. The performance is nearly the same as Kirin 920. As this Kirin 928 adopts the 28nm processor technology, in small space, it can not always keep running in high frequency.

From the above testing, we can see Kirin 928 has been slightly improved than Kirin 920 and 925. As the 28nm process, processor can not run in 2.0GHz high frequency.

Now, there are many chipset suppliers for smart phones, but most of them are not popular in market. Even, Texas Instrument, Broadcom and Ericsson has already quit from this market. But LG seems to want to move into this business. About one years ago, LG has announced that it will launch one octa core chipset, but after that, there is little further news about it.

Today, in the new LG smart phone, F490L Liger, we have found some information about this octa core processor. This smart phone adopts one octa core processor named NUCLUN which is developed by LG. It is based on ARM big.LITTLE framework. It contains two quad core processor, one is 1.5GHz, and one is 1.2GHz. But we did not know they are based on Cortex A53, A57 or other cores.

One years ago, when LG announced its schedule to develop one octa core processor, the information told it will contains four Cortex A15 and four Cortex A7. But they are already out of date now. Now, in market, there are a lot of 64 bit processor with Cortex A53 or A57.

What we know is the GPU part. It adopts the quad core PowerVR G6430 GPU. This GPU is also adopted by the Apple A7 processor. The Apple A8 processor adopts the GX6450 GPU, and A8X processor adopts the GX6650 GPU.

Before more information available about this NUCLUN processor, we can not draw conclusion about its performance.

Recently, ASUS associated with AT&T, launched one smart phone in US. Its name is ASUS Fonepad Z mini. This smart phone is one 4.5 inch unit. Different with other FonePad units, this unit is only for US market. Unit comes with Intel Atom processor and Intel XMM 7160 LTE Modem. If connected with pedestal, this unit can be one 7 inch 4G LTE tablet pc. From 24th Oct, it will be available for sale in AT&T stores, and from Nov, it will be available in all retailing store in US.

Till now, ASUS did not tell any information about this Fonepad X Mini. But for sure, its price will be quite good. Considering it is a 2 in 1 smart phone, it will be quite welcome in US.
