APP market in 2014

Yesterday, report from Suverimax, in 2014, the new app growth of Google Play has surpassed App Store first time, and the total developer of Google Play is also leading Apple Store in past three years. The total amount of developers of Google Play is 388 thousand. As what the report said, most growth of Google Play is from the second half of 2014.

In 2014, the total developer of Apple Store is 282 thousand, Amazon is only 48 thousand. Totally speaking, the APP amount of the three stores is keeping on increasing. Compared with 2013, it is increased by 50% at least. But the growth of Google Play is biggest.

The total APP of Google Play is 1.43 million, and Apple Store is 1.21 million. Amazon is 293 thousand, and compared with last year, Amazon is increased by 90%.

The fastest growth iOS categories are Business, Food&Drink, Lifestyle, Social Networking and Catalogs. The fastest growth Android categories are games, photography, music, business, and entertainment.

Though the total APP amount of Google Play is more than App Store, but iOS is more prefered by developers. Usually, they will develop APP for iOS first, then Android OS. That is because, iOS can bring more profit to developers.
