Last week, ontablets.es has already disclosed that the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 and 810 may have the problem of overheating. Especially for the Snapdragon 810, the overheating problem was happened in last Dec, and till now, it is not resolved.

The reason for the problem may be the 64 bit ARM Cortex A57 framework adopted. When the frequency of Cortex A57 reach 1.2GH or above, the overheating problem will happened. It is a big problem for some high end smart phones. To resolve the problem, Qualcomm may have to redesign the chipset, and so this chipset will be delayed about three months to be available. That means it will be available at second quarter of 2015 at soonest.

In the CES 2015, LG just launched its new smart phone G Flex 2 with this Snapdragon 810 processor. As estimation, this unit will land Korea at the end of this month. But LG did not tell when it will be available in other countries, we believe it should be related with the delay of Snapdragon 810.

On the other hand, Samsung is scheduled to launch its Galaxy S6 in Feb. It is quite possible that 90% of the Galaxy S6 will adopt the Exynos processor. The new Exynos processor will adopt the 14nm process technology. Till now, Samsung did not confirm the news.

As we know, the latest processor from Media and Kirin are also adopt the ARM Cortex A57 framework. And the MTK6795 has already been for sale at the end of 2014. Recently, some news said the HTC M9 may adopt this MTK7695 to replace the Snapdragon 810. Huawei Kirin 930 which is also adopting Crotex A57 will be used in the new Huawei Mate smartphone. This unit will be launched in March of 2015. But this processor is 28nm process technology.

Except the above units, Sony Xperia Z4, LG G4, HTC Hima are als adopting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. So they may be delayed as well.

Two month ago, news from ontablets.es said, Audi will launch a new in car tablet for its new 2015 edition Audi Q7. In CES trade fair, Audi launched this new tablet system.

This tablet owns one 10.1 inch IPS screen. On the top of front panel, there is one Audi logo. CPU is Nvidia Tegra 4 processor. Flash memory is 32GB. There is one FHD camera built in. Unit support the NFC and bluetooth function. As the screen is processed by some special technology, even when car is shaking, the viewing experience is still very good.

As this tablet is special for cars, so it adopts the high quality material. Unit can work in very high or cold temperature from -40 to 80 degree. Unit will be placed at the back seat of the car, but passengers can control the most of in car electronic system on the tablet. When connected through wifi, users can control the car audio system, and see the information of car maintenance.

Today, we have received the information of the Allwinner's first 64 bit processor, A64. Its price is even lower than USD 5.00. That is the most cost effective 64 bit processor in market.

Allwinner A64 adopts the advanced ARM Cortex A53 framework. performance is enhanced dramatically. It can decode H.264, and H.265 video and support 4K video output through HDMI. It can support various of DRAM, it will help manufacturers to control their cost. This chipset can support eMMC 5.0. It adopts the unique color system from Allwinner, users can have good viewing experience. Most important, it can support the latest ARM Trust Firmware framework.

As the first chipset supplier for Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, this A64 can run the Android 5.0 OS. The kernel edition is also upgraded to V3.10. It can match the 64 bits Android 5.0 OS better.

Yesterday, CES trade show was opened in USA. In the fair, exhibitors displayed their latest products. Of course, smart wearing device is one hotspot. There are many new smart wearing devices shown in the fair.

In fact, there is always some dispute about the smart wearing device. Some people think the multi function smart wearing devices will be the future. But others think the cheap and single purpose devices will be.

As estimation, in 2018, the total sales of smart wearing devices will be over 112 million pieces. This number is nearly five times of in 2014.

Now, we can not make sure if all in one or one in one will be the future. But suppliers have to choose their side. Apple and Google chose all in one. As our estimation, the Apple Watch which will be launched in this spring will own one screen, hear rate monitor, fitting tracking function etc. Its price will be about 350 US dollars as highest. The others, like MOTO360, Samsung Gear S which are based on Android Wear OS, even put the game, notebook etc functions into the units.

One investigation in US shows, people still like all in one smart watch more, like Apple Watch. People don't like to wear too many smart devices on body, so all in one will be the future.

On the other hand, many suppliers are developing single and special purpose smart wearing devices. Compared with the all in one device, it will be much cheaper, and it may be more accurate or powerful when handling single order. For example, the Google Glass.

Though, we don't know the answer, but refer to the mobile phone, maybe we can have some idea. As we know, the old mobile phone can only make calls, send text, now, the smart phone is so powerful and can handle different orders. But the difference is the battery life. As we know, the all in one smart devices will have higher power consumption than single ones. So how to resolve this problem will be quite important to Apple and Google.

The CES trade show will be open in 6th-9th Jan in USA. And recently, we have the news from Actions that it will launch its 64 bit tablet pc and OTT solution.

One month ago, we have made a special report to Actions. The CEO of Actions told it will launch its 64 bit processor at the end of 2014. But it is delayed, and will be available in the CES trade show.

In fact, in 30th, June, 2014, Actions has already been authorized for the ARM Cortex A50 series. And it becomes the first chipset supplier in China who are authorized for Cortex A50 series. In this CES 2015 fair, Action will launch the 64 bit processor which means it becomes the leader of 64 bit processor. In Oct, 2014, Google launched the 64 bit Android 5.0 Lollipop operation system, and in Nov, Google started to propel its Android 5.0 OS to its Nexus devices. In 2015, no matter tablets or smart phones, it will be the ages of 64 bits.

In the CES 2015, there will be two 64 bit processor from Actions. One is ATM9009 which is for tablets, and one is GT9 which is for smart phones. Regarding the detail information of the two processors, Actions did not tell any further information. We will have further report in following days.

2014 is a wonderful year for Apple. It launched the latest iPhone 6/Plus smart phone, real 5K iMac, iPad Air 2 with A8X processor. But in meanwhile, Apple has some problems, the iPad sale is reduced a lot in 2014. Personally, when I owned a iPhone 6 Plus, I barely use iPad, even at home. Of course, that is my personal experience, that does not mean iPad is not welcome.

As the data from Suverimax, in 3rd quarter of 2014, the total sale of iPad is 13.3 million pieces, compared the 14.6 million pieces in last year, it is reduced a lot. Even compared with the 2nd quarter of 2014 which is about 16.3 million pieces, the sales is also reducing.

The total sales of iPad in 2014 is about 68 million pieces, and in 2013, the sales is about 74 million pieces.

But the situation may not keep on in 2015. In 2015, the sales of iPad may be increased by 16% in 2015. The reason is following:

First, more enterprises will adopt tablets for their daily job. And Apple has already prepared for it. It cooperated with IBM and launched several App for office job.

Second, tablets supplier will have very clear market targeting. During the past years, the tablets suppliers are just followed by iPad or Samsung. In 2015, more tablets will be aiming to niche market.

Third, tablet suppliers may simplify their product lines. For example, many 7 inch or small size tablets will be cancelled in 2015 since big screen smart phone will take its place.

Though, big screen smart phones may take some market share. But they can not as big as 12 inch or above. So in 2015, big screen size tablets will increase. As some news said, Apple may launch 12.9 inch iPad Pro, and 12.2 inch iPad Air Plus. In fact, there are several good big screen tablets, like Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, Microsoft Surface Pro 3, and Sony may also launch 12.9 inch 4K screen Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra.

Recently, many tablet pc suppliers have already launched their tablets based on the Mediatek octa core 3G solution. But all of them are for middle end market. And their price is about 80 euros. This morning, Colorfly also launched one octa core tablet, Colorfly G708. It is also based on the Mediatek octa core 3G solution. But its price is only 50 euros.

Colorfly G708 owns one 7 inch IPS screen, resolution is 1280*800 pixels. CPU is the Mediatek MT6592 octa core, this processor contains eight ARM Cortex A7 cores. Frequency is 1.4GHz, and the chipset is adopting the 28nm process technology. Its performance is very powerful, and running speed is very fast. But unit only has 1G RAM and 8GB flash memory. But users can extend it by TF card. More important, it can support 3G network, and users can make calls on the tablet.

As the research by suverimax.com. the total income of semiconductor will be 353 billion US dollars in 2014. Compared with last year, it is increased by 9.4%.

Today, suverimax listed out the top 10 semiconductor suppliers in the world by their incoming. In the list, Mediatek has jumped from 15 spot the 10. It is the first semiconductor supplier ranking in top 10 from Taiwan. Its total incoming is 7.15 billion US dollars, compared with last year, it is increased by 57.5%, the increasing rate is ranking second.

Avago is ranked 15th from 23th spot in last year. Its total incoming is 542 million US dollars. It has been increased by 107.9% compared with 2013.

The high increase rate of Mediatek and Avago is because of the merge activities. If speaking of the self business increasing rate, the top one is SK from Korea, its increase rate is 23% in 2014.

The top semiconductor is still Intel which has nearly 50 billion US dollar incoming, the second one Samsung, its incoming is 38.3 billion US dollars, and third one is Qualcomm, its incoming is 19.3 billion US dollars.

As the report from ontablets.es, as the sales of tablet android in Japan is reduced a lot in 2014, the tablet pc demand is firstly reduced in the third quarter of 2014. Compared with same period of last year, it is reduced by 3% to 1.62 million pieces. It is the first time since 2010 when first tablet, iPad was launched in Japan.

In 3rd quarter, the consuming tablets is reduced by 13.7% to about 1.13 million pieces, and commercial tablets with Windows OS and iOS is increased by 36.3% to about 500 thousand pieces.

The iPad is still ranked top, its sales is about 800 thousand pieces, and takes about 49.3% market share. In 2nd quarter, it is only 39.4%. The second spot is ASUS, which is sold about 270 thousand pieces, its market share is increased to 16.4% from 10.8% in 2nd quarter. Its market share is about twice of Sony. That is because ASUS has launched several new entry level tablets in cheap price.

The 3rd spot is Sony which takes about 8.6% market share, That is reduced from 11.1% in 2nd quarter. Following is NEC, Lenovo which have 6.3% market share. Microsoft has 3.8% market share.

From April to Sept, ASUS has taken 12.8% market share. Total sales is about 530 million pieces. Apple is about 1.8 million pieces sales, taking 43.3% market share.

At early of this year, Suverimax.com has disclosed the new LG smart watch, one LG phablet, and one new generation LG G Flex. And soon, all the news are confirmed by LG. Recently, LG has registered a new brand name, LG G Pad X. In the last IFA trade show, LG has already launched the LG G Pad 8.3, G Pad 7.0, Pad 8.0 and Pad 10.1. So we believe this new LG G Pad X will be one good tablet as well.

As our estimation, this LG G Pad X will be one tablet coming with 10 inch or above screen size.Of course, it is not confirmed by LG. But we believe this new unit will be launched in the CES 2015 or WMC 2015 trade show. We just need to wait its arrival.
