This morning, Huawei released its latest octa core chipset in Beijing. The model number is Kirin 920. This chipset adopts four Cortex A7 and four Cortex A15 chips. It can work with LTE Cat 6 and compatible with all bands in worldwide. That means it can work all over the world.

This Kirin 920 comes with Mali T628 GPU. It can support a screen with 2560*1600 pixels at max. More important, this Kirin 920 has one professional audio processor, Tensilica HIFI3. It can provide you excellent tone quality, very suitable for music fans. Regarding the videos, this chipset can support H.265 decoding by hardware and 4000*4000 resolution videos.

Kirin 920 can support TD-LTE/LTE-FDD/TD-SCDMA/WCDMA/GSW, totally five network formats. It is also the first one chipset can support LTE CAT6. The download speed can be 300M at max. capable of working with all the bands in worldwide. More important, it can support SGLTE/CSFB and VOLTE dialogue.

In this Kirin 920, there is one smart sensor I3. It works in very low power consumption. It can make some smart apps working all the time when unit is standby.

There is one new technology available in the chipset, named Auto-Stop. It can save the power consumption and RAM to ensure the running speed of the unit.

As estimation by Ontablets, this chipset will be available at the end of this year. Maybe then we can see some tablets or smart phones adopting this Kirin 920 chipset.

Last month, as the news from Ontablets, Google was developing a new tablet with Advanced Vision Ability. It is called Project Tango tablet. Google planned to produce four thousand pieces. Today, Google confirmed the news, and released this Project Tango tablet.

This Project Tango is developed by Google and Nvidia. The unit comes with one 7 inch screen, the CPU is the Tegra K1 quad core chipset from Nvidia. The RAM is 4G, and there is 128G flash memory. The unit support the LTE connection. The highlight of this tablet is the camera and the sensor. It can support the 3G shooting function. This function can be used to take the structure 3D map inside a building.

Google is considering to transplant to this technology into smart phone or tablet long time before. Though Google did not tell what is the progress of this Project Tango tablet, as the information from Ontablets, this unit is very nearing to be available. It should be available for sale at then end of this year. You know the Project Tango smart phone has already been available for sale at March of this year. It will be a great tool for some people in special job.

In the last Computex trade show, Nvidia released the first one 7 inch tablet pc with Windows 8.1 OS, named Lyon. but this Lyon tablet adopts the Bay-Trail M CPU from Intel. In this Computex trade show 2014, Toshiba released its first 7 inch tablet with Windows 8.1 operation system. But different with Lyon tablet, this unit adopts the Bay-Trail T quad core chipset.

This tablet from Toshiba adopts one 7 inch screen, the resolution is 1024*600 pixels. The viewing angle is not wide, so we guess the screen is not IPS, but TN screen. The CPU is the Intel Atom Z3735 quad core chipset, the frequency is 1.33Ghz. the RAM is 1G, the flash memory is 16G.

This tablet has one micro HDMI connector, micro USB port, and micro SD card slot to extend the memory. There is one 3.5mm earphone jack. Built in speakers are also available.

This Jan, Acer released one very cheap tablet, Iconia Tab 7. The price of this Iconia Tab 7 is only 99 US dollars. Today, in the Computex 2014 trade show, Acer released one another cheap tablet, the Iconia Tab 8. The firmware and performance is much better than the Tab 7. Today, let's share some information about it.

This Iconia Tab 8 adopts one 8 inch IPS screen, the resolution is 1920*1200 pixels. The CPU is the Intel Atom Z3745 quad core chipset. The frequency is 1.86Ghz. This unit runs the Android 4.4 operation system. The resolution of front camera is 2M pixels, and the rear one is 5M pixels.

From the above information, we can know the Iconia Tab 8 performs much better than Tab 7. Of course, the price is accordingly higher. As exposed by Ontablets, this Tab 8 will be sold at 199 euros. The price is not so high, we can say it is quite a cost effective tablet.

Last week, Ontablets exposed that Allwinner would release one new chipset in the Computex 2014 trade show. In that post, we have exposed that the A33 will adopt four Cortex A7 chipset, and GPU should be the Mali series. The performance and price should be lower than the A31S. Today, Allwinner exposed the detail information of this chipset, and it verified our forecast.

This A33 chipset adopts the four Cortex A7, and the GPU is the Mali400 MP2. The package is BGA282. It can support the screen resolution of 1280*800 pixels at max, and 5M pixels cameras, DDR3 or DDR3L RAM, and 1080P*60fps video playback.

From the above information, we can see the performance of this A33 should be lower than A31S. But the price is also lower as well. It is one more cost effective chipset from Allwinner. It is quite suitable for medium or low class tablets. Allwinner did not expose the price and release date of this chipset in the trade show, but as our estimation, it should be available in July.

In the last entry, we have introduced one new tablet from ASUS, the Transformer Book V. In fact, except this unit, there is one another tablet released in the Computex trade show, that is the Transformer Book T300 Chi. It is also coming with one 12.5 inch screen, and quite slim, only 7.5mm.

Except the body of the tablet is very slim, the keyboard is slim as well, only 14.3mm. The screen resolution of this unit is 2560*1440 pixels. The CPU is a new Intel chipset, in the trade show, ASUS did not leak out the model number of the chipset. It can connect with the 4G LTE network. The operation system is Windows 8.1. Till now, the price and the release date is not available.

We can believe what we saw in the trade show is a projection sample. As the news from Ontablets, ASUS is still working on some bugs available in the unit. As our estimation, the unit will be available at the end of this year when the new Intel chipset is available and the price of this unit will not be cheap.

The Computex 2014 will be opened today, but yesterday, ASUS hold a press meeting, and released its latest tablet, Transformer Book V. This is the only 5 in 1 tablet in the world. It can switch between tablet, smart phone and laptop PC. Meanwhile, it has Windows and Android dual operation system. That means you can own one smart phone, tablet windows, tablet android, laptop PC and androind laptop. That is what say 5 in 1.

This Transformer Book V has three parts: tablet, smart phone android and the keyboard. That is quite similar as the old Padphone X. Users can load the 5 inch smart phone android to the tablet. The tablet has one 12.5 inch screen. If you connect it with a keyboard, then it becomes a laptop pc. More important, users can switch between Android OS and Windows by the Instant switch mode button on keyboard.

The 5 inch smart phone is quite similar as the Zenfone, it adopts one 5 inch 720P IPS screen. The CPU is the 64P, 22nm Moorefield quad core chipset. RAM is 2G, the ROM can be 64G at max. The operation system is Android 4.4. The resolution of front camera is 2M pixels, the rear one is 8M pixels. The battery is 2550Mah, and it can support the 4G network. When loaded into the tablet, the interface of the smart phone will be displayed on the tablet.

Regarding the tablet, the screen is 12.5 inch. Resolution is 1280*800 pixels. The CPU is the latest Intel chipset, may be the 14nm Broadwell, the RAM is 1G, and 128G EMMC flash memory at max, and there is one 1TB memory disc as well. The operation system is the latest Windows 8.1 OS. Battery capacity is 28Whr.

As we know, the Intel Broadwell and Moorefiled will be available at the second half of this year, so we believe this Transformer will be released for sale at the end of the this year at soonest.

Last week, Ontablets has already exposed the news that Sumsang will release one 7 inch phablet, many people guessed it should be the second generation of Mega. This morning, we have seen this unit on the FCC website and some blogs about tablets and smart phones.

As suggested on the FCC website, the model number of this phablet is SM-T2558. The screen size is 7 inch. Regarding the firmware, there is no information on the website.

If it is really the Mega 2. then we can know some basic feature about this unit. The screen is 7 inch, and resolution is 1280*720 pixels. The CPU is the Qualcomme Snapdragon 400, the frequency is 1.2GHz, the RAM is 1.5G. There are dual cameras built in. The front one is 2M pixels, and the rear one is 5M pixels.

Till now, Sumsang did not announce the detail information about it, or the release date. As estimation, it should be available for sale about one or two months later. People who want to own it have to wait a bit longer.

As we know, 64P CPU runs faster than 32P chipset. In the second half of this year, we have seen several new 64P chipset. For example, Qualcomm has released its 64P, 20nm octa core chipset, Snapdragon 810. Facing the competition from Qualcomm, Mediatek planned to release its first 64P octa core chipset. The most advantage of Qualcomm is the LTE band. But the LTE from Mediatek will be also released at the second half of this year. Now, it is catching up with Qualcomm.

If the performance and LTE of the CPU do not have much difference, then what is the advantage of Qualcomm. As we know, the chipset from Mediatek is much cheaper than Qualcomm. Welcome your idea about it.
